POP art

In class recently we've been going to the computer lab to work on our pop art designs. My pop art design is on Farrah Fawcett. We had to make an Icon of something and edit 6 different ways. The first on i did sort of like a neon glow edge so it makes the edges glow. For my second one we had to change the background. The 3rd one we did we would have to change the color of something and alter it in some way. The 4th one we had to put the picture into writing or a picture. For the 5th edit we had to duplicate a picture. The last one was a free choice and what I did was looked around at all the effects and found a really cool one. This project that was inspired by Andy warhol.

Andy Warrhol

one of his most famous works of art are the campbelll soup cans. He took the pictures and enlarged, hand-painted or silkscreened, framed, and hung in an art gallery. Andy Warhol expirimented with what he did with them. He began as a commercial illustrator and he was very succesfull doing that. In 1968 Andy Warhol was shot and but he did most of his best work inbetween the 6 years he was succesfull in.

Bag design!

in class we recently did bag designs. When I did my bag design I used tesselations and I think that relates to HURBE. I think the tesselations on my bag design show Harmony because they all fit together and there connected. The colors on my bag also relates to Harmony. The colors i chose really blend in and connect really well so they relate to Harmony Connecting all the patterns reminds me of UNITY. I think the tesselations make the the patterns unite. RHYTHm is in my work because the tessalations repeat on my bag and creates a RHYTHm . I think it creates a rythm because the patterns on my bag have different LINES that makes the rhythm interesting. BALANCE Is also one of the things that are important on my bag. My bag is balanced because the c o l o r s and tessalations match. My colors are soft and matches my bag design because it is very detailed and a softer color helps it blend. While doing this project i learnt alot about what colors blend with others and how you can make different shades to blend it.

Bag Designs

In desing art we are currently working on our bag designs. Our bag designs are based on tessalations. we have to make a bag that has repeating patterns. First we have to draw our bag then we must put the tessalation on the bag. HURBE is used in this by making sure the tessalations fit well together making sure there is a part where there is a focal point. I found this site that i thought was pretty cool and the designs they have are creative.

Tessalations

In Design art we just finished Tessalations. Tessalations are repeating patterns. I learnt that we see tessalations in our everyday life for example.... tiles on the floor, some clothes, curtains etc. If i had to do this again i would make it bigger and more complex. I found this assignmen a little bit chalenging but is was very fun.

HURBE

nhy

In art class we have already used curvy lines and straight line to make drawing and we also made a collage . when we made our collage we had to use color paper and we had to cut out curvy and straight lines and shape. while making the collage we could only use 3 colors and it had to have a focal point.

A focal point is a part of the picture that stands out. It can be the color or the shape of something.

With these skills we are now making a sculpture.

HURBE is one thing we leanrt and it stands for Harmony, Unity, Rythm, Balance, Emphasis. You must use hurbe in all of your sculptures.
